Haskins Furniture had decided to move away from a disjointed, inefficient legacy Furniture Retail System that was made up of too many parts; a database built on outdated technologies, a system with limited development opportunity, poor support and an insecure WooCommerce website combined with a shaky integration.
They were the perfect candidates for a real Unified Commerce solution.

We met Haskins Furniture in early 2023 and ran through OMNIS Retail in detail with their operational heads of departments; finance, purchasing, sales, warehousing and IT. As a cloud-based Unified Commerce platform, OMNIS Retail really stood out from their hodgepodge of legacy software, but the difference was really laid bare by a severe system outage during a very busy period. While the existing Furniture Retail System crashed for a ten day period during Haskins' huge Greenwood sale, no real support was offered. Simultaneously, we were in the final stages of getting them live, providing on site support and training, making final changes, and doing everything to ensure a smooth launch.
When OMNIS Retail went live, just seven months after starting the project (including a 4 week delay caused by the catastrophic failure of their legacy software), our implentation specialists were on hand to make sure that everyone was comfortable with the new platform ahead of the January sales.
OMNIS Retail is streamlining all aspects of furniture retailing
In the back office, OMNIS Retail offers a unified order processing workflow. Whatever their source, instore, telephone, email or eCommerce, all orders are processed in exactly the same way. All orders can be viewed in real time, and there is no need to rekey orders for purchasing, or for scheduling deliveries; everything is handled within a single comprehensive system.
This means that customer special orders can be easily collated and placed with appropriate suppliers via the native purchase ordering functionality, with customers kept up to date throughout.
Incoming deliveries can be viewed and planned in the calendar using the Warehouse module and can then be scanned in on receipt using system generated barcodes. As they are put away in the warehouse, identifying reservation labels are printed with their locations and movements throughout the business managed and recorded.
Meanwhile, products coming into the warehouse to fulfil customer orders can be added to delivery runs and checked for outstanding balances before being picked and packed. Human error is minimised, as lorries are limited to a maximum number of drops, or to certain postcodes.
We have a truly impressive suite of tools available to our users, but perhaps the strongest is the ability to personalise the user experience. Managers can toggle permissions, restrict the ability to add discounts to sales orders and completely personalise dashboard reporting. Our CRM can be used to assign tasks to individual users in customisable categories, perfect for the most unique workflows. Even better, we are able to build out custom automations for our clients.
