Moving from an outdated website to a next generation sales platform


Before they came to us, Lanka Kade were working from a five year old website that had turned into a Frankenstein's monster. It was built up from lots of different software, all bolted together and creaking at the seams.

Worse, they had been let down by their agency.

Lanka Kade came to Iconography to give them a fresh start, one that could handle Direct to Consumer eCommerce, as well as all the customer management and order processing demanded by a busy B2B website.

When it came to creating a website for Lanka Kade, we had a few things that we had to get just right. First was the design; their products look so good that the website had to be perfect.

Second, they needed an integration with Sage 50. Every single order is sent into their database, and every account is updated whenever a change is made. They provide stock levels and the change is instant; their version of Sage 50 has direct access to our database.

It also needed the link to handle their trade accounts, from invoicing and credit limits all the way up to different pricing tiers on the website for trade customers. 


Direct to Consumer

With IXO Commerce, Lanka Kade gained an entirely new route to market; eCommerce direct to the end customer.

Stock management

From simple stock levels all the way up to preorders and back in stock dates, the platform handles everything a savvy brand could need. 


Central customer management

Thanks to the link with Sage, customer management is handled in IXO Commerce. Lanka Kade manage contact details, invoicing and orders in one place. 

Business intelligence

B2C and B2B orders are placed on the website, centralised and output to finance software. This allows for accurate sell through, P&L reporting, etc.

We're used to working with complex products in the furniture industry, but Lanka Kade came as a little surprise. Their name plaques come in a variety of sizes and styles each one can have up to 9 spots for letters, each of which can come in up to 11 styles. That's 2,574 potential combinations for a single product!

Fortunately, we could take the lessons we'd learned from other projects and create a simple, workable solution.
